Beth's Home Childcare-Preschool is a small mixed aged program.

 

We Offer:

  • A Lead teacher (Beth Roberts) has her Bachelor Degree in Elementary and Special Education. (Preschool and School Age Child Teacher Qualified)

  • National Association for Family Child Care Accreditation ( I am the only Home Daycare in Mt. Airy that has been awarded Accreditation)

  • Maryland Child Care Credentialed (Highest Level)

  • Participant of the Maryland Food Program ( I provide breakfast, 2 snacks, lunch and dinner depending on your child's hours of care)

Beth's Home Childcare-Preschool provides a structured childcare center feeling and at the same time your family will feel the home atmosphere that our program offers. We use a combination of Structured and Non-Structured Play throughout our day.eth's Home Childcare-Preschool has been opened and Beth's Home Childcare-Preschool offers activities and learning opportunities that will allow the children to grow and develop in areas of Personal and Social Development, Language, Mathematical Thinking, Scientific Thinking, Social Studies, The Arts, and Health and Physical Education.

 

Our Daily Routine Includes: Breakfast, Table Activities, Circle Time, Calendar, Story Time, Weekly Theme, Music/ Movement and Yoga, Arts and Crafts, Social Studies, Science, Math, 2 Snacks, Outside Play, Lunch, Rest Time, Free Play in the Centers, Gardening, Homework Assistance and much more.

Beth Roberts (Owner and Lead Teacher) graduated from Hood College in Frederick, MD with her Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education.

 

I am a member of the NAFCC (National Association of Family Child Care), Family  Child Care Association of  Frederick

County and  Maryland State Family Child Care Association.

Programs
 

Infant and Toddler Program (Ages 6 weeks to 2 years)

Our infants and toddlers are offered a variety of opportunities to explore their world through play. Gross and fine motor skills and social skills are developed through both structured and unstructured play. This age group is included in all the daily activities. We are a participant of the Food Program and supply breakfast, lunch, 2  snacks and dinner depending on your childs hours of care. 

 

Preschool (Ages 2-5 Years) Although it may seem like fun and games to preschoolers, the state curriculum standards we follow is packed with educational elements. The children will focus on pre-reading skills like phonemic aweness and letter and sound recognition, early writing, foreign language, cooking, basic math concepts, time, social studies, and hands on science exploration, art, music, physical education, and much more. We have outside play in the fenced yard. I am a participant of the Food Program and supply lunch and snack. We follow the Frederick County School Closures and Calendar. This is a 9 month program which starts beginnining of  September and ends in May. Summer camps will be available. Your child can enroll anytime in the year.

 

Before and After Care (Ages 5-12 years)

School agers are given a quiet environment for homework and projects, with supervised access to a computer ( if available). I am in the Twin Ridge Elementary School district. Also available to elementary students are crafts, games, snacks and physical activities. We follow Frederick County School Closures and Calandar. If school is closed your child may be able to stay for the day if space is available for an additional charge. This program runs during the school year. Summer camps will be available for an additonal charge.

 Owner/Director Beth Roberts opened in 2013 to offer families a positive learning environment to promote early childhood development for children ages 6 weeks- 12 years old. Beth Roberts graduated from Hood College in Frederick, MD with her Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education. 

 

I have three children and 2 Pug dogs.

 

I have always volunteered while my eldest son was in school and  at that time I was a Dental Assistant. I realized that my calling was to be a teacher, so I went back to college and changed my career path.

 

I believe as an educator you should develop the whole child; socially; physically; emotionally; and interlectually. I enjoy providng a warm and nurturing atmosphere for the children where they can  learn at their own pace.

 

There are two Pugs that live at the facilty. They are very friendly and are 10 years old. At times they maybe around the children.
